Niveshkar

India's clearest finance calculators

I built Niveshkar because every other Indian finance calculator either hides the formula or sells you a product. Open math, primary sources, FY26 rules. Free, no signup, ever.

Why another finance calculator site?

Most finance calculators in India sit buried inside a bank's website, a broker's mobile app or a tax-prep service's funnel, surrounded by upsells, lead-capture forms and "Apply now" buttons that quietly ship your details to a partner financial product. Niveshkar is the opposite. Each calculator is its own dedicated page on a static site, paired with the formula, a worked example with real Indian numbers, the regulatory source, common mistakes specific to the Indian context, and a tax callout. Everything is free, nothing is gated, nothing is sold.

Every calculator is updated for the latest financial year's tax slabs, contribution limits and interest rates. The site is built and maintained solo as a side project, sourced from RBI master directions, SEBI mutual fund regulations, the Income Tax Act, AMFI, DICGC and the relevant statutory notifications. Source code is open on GitHub so anyone can verify the math.

What's live right now

Five calculators went live in the launch week of May 2026: EMI for home, car and personal loans; SIP for mutual fund monthly investments with optional step-up; FD for bank fixed deposit maturity with all four compounding frequencies; PPF for the 15-year tax-free public provident fund; and Gratuity for the lump sum payable under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972.

Next in the queue, roughly one per week: Income Tax FY26 (old vs new regime side-by-side), HRA exemption with metro / non-metro branching, NPS corpus with annuity split, Capital Gains LTCG/STCG across equity, debt and real estate, and a few more by month three. The full roadmap is in the calculator index with "soon" badges on each.

How the math is verified

Each calculator's formula is sourced from a primary regulator or Act, not from a competitor's blog. The numbers are cross-checked against at least two reputable reference calculators before going live, typically a combination of Groww, Cleartax, ETMoney, BankBazaar, emicalculator.net or the official AMFI / Income Tax Department / India Post tools. Tax slabs and contribution limits are updated within a week of every Union Budget. Every page shows its "Last updated" date in the footer.
